When I Came West (Part Twenty-nine)

One of the best rewards of being a writer is when I hear from my readers, who often sometimes become my friends.

This response from Ellen Marga (used with her permission) gave me renewed confidence that my book will find an audience in the wider world:  "I looked at your website today and read the introduction for When I Came West. I just wanted to tell you, as a kindred spirit, that I find nothing confusing about your choices or foolish about your being. I understand your choices perfectly. Your choice was to listen to and follow the urgings of your soul.

There is a saying, "If this were really your life you would have been given a road map." The thing is, we have been given a road map that is carried in the soul and read by our feeling sense. The map, if followed, leads us to wholeness by allowing us to be put into events from which we can learn what we didn't resolve emotionally from our last life.

Then we come back to ourselves whole. It is the ultimate act of self-love to follow our map for this life by listening to and acting on the soul's guidance. Then we will never be lost or disconnected from the love force that is our being, and our true home.

You found and followed the map that is the perfect path for your life. When held up to the conventional world it seems crazy… "The Fool in the Tarot deck… is not a fool, but a spiritual being on his or her path.

I'm happy that you are out there doing your life on your own terms."
